Dear colleagues,

You and your team are cordially invited to the inaugural State of Maryland Speech and Debate Association (SMDSDA) Championship, to be held at Loyola Blakefield in Towson on Saturday April 6^th.

There are several metropolitan and county leagues spread throughout the region, almost all of which are open only to member schools.  This tournament provides an interleague end-of-season competition that is open to ALL students and schools in Maryland, DC, and Delaware.

The Association hopes to promote interest in all forms of speech and debate throughout the immediate area, encourage a spirit of fellowship and healthy competition, and provide a forum where deserving candidates can earn suitable recognition.
